Entry requirements

Please complete an enrolment form.
All classes are dependent on learner numbers. If there are not enough enrolments, the class may be postponed. You will be informed by text message if this is the case.

It is recommended you contact AA before your course commencement to book your test on the Friday or the week following the course.
Please bring a pen and paper to write on, and light refreshments.
Please arrive for the course on time unless prior arrangement made with our office.

New Zealand has a driver licence system to make sure that everyone who drives on our roads has the skills and knowledge necessary to be a safe driver. The safer our drivers are, the safer our roads will be.

To drive a car, you will need to get a Class 1 licence. The first stage of the journey to a full driver licence is to pass a test on the road code. This will give you a learner licence to enable you to display yellow L plates, and learn to drive with a supervisor or instructor.

The Whanganui Learning Centre runs courses throughout the year to assist with the Learner Licence process.
